Distracted

Distracted

This is the first nondual poem I wrote. It reflects aspects of the apparent journey we take to discover the Truth of who we are - the way is full of distractions!

Walking up a hill
I see the light shining
just over the other side

What beautiful flowers!
I stop and pick a bunch,
not wanting to part from them

I continue walking
drawn magnetically upwards,
the light urging me forward

A cramp in my foot!
I stop a while to give
attention to the pain

Walking on,
I sense the light
warm and inviting

I think I hear a noise!
A rustling in the bushes…
I search but find no one

Walking now I grow tired
and lie down to sleep.
I dream of the light.
