Steadfast and True

Found in the book 'The Temple of Silence'
Steadfast and True

“Steadfast and True” is a poem that arose this morning, I suppose in an attempt to capture that inspiration is transient, and also speak to the enduring power of past creative insights. There is only patience and acceptance here – the poems in “Take Heart, Seeker” and on this website remain, at least here, as True inspiration and remain a guiding light even in the apparent absence of fresh arisings. Gratitude!

The muse that once whispered here
has gone silent and leaves no trace,
nothing moving through this vessel
to take shape as words.

I do not try to find her
and do not lament her disappearance
for she may yet return,
the gift of silence in her wake.

Her past offerings burn brightly
and do not dim with the passage of time,
the singular message steadfast and True
pointing tirelessly to what always is.
