Yeah, but...

"Yeah, but..." exposes the familiar voice of doubt and resistance that arises whenever we inch toward change or growth and how this inner dialogue often holds us back, while reminding us that true freedom lies beyond the constant objections of the mind.

As one would expect
a question was posed,
the teacher responded
and another arose.

Again, words pointed
to ineffable Truth
but the student protested
demanding more proof.

Gently nudging the student
toward that which is here,
the teacher attempted
to make it more clear.

The student sat puzzled
and exclaimed yet again,
and like a patient grandparent
the teacher weighed in.

When the session had ended,
the case open and shut,
all the student had left
was a feeble “Yeah, but…”
